Acomplia is a drug that is prescribed to help assist in the treatment for obesity along with other conditions related to obesity. Acomplia is a CB1 which is a Cannabinoid-1 Receptor Blocker.
What do the trials of Acomplia tell us?
Clinical trials have shown that Acomplia helped to improve a very wide range of cardio metabolic factors that are quite risky to people who are obese or over weight. About half of the people who participated in the clinical trial studies showed improvement in their triglycerides, HDL cholesterol and HbA1C. Trial participants who were given Acomplia 20mg also lost above the expected weight loss.
When will Acomplia be available in the United States?
There is speculation that Acomplia will be released in the United States later in the year. The United States health authority has requested more information from Sanofi, which is the company that manufactures Acomplia.
Acomplia was given approval for the European market back in 2006 in July. Acomplia is expected to be released in Britain by mid summer of this year. Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and Ireland will follow closely behind. Then the Americas will hopefully follow them soon after their release of Acomplia.
